GK Films rides '5th Wave' with Tobey Maguire
MaguireGK Films has acquired "The fifth Wave," an offer for any youthful adult sci-fi trilogy from author Ron Yancey that may also be created by Tobey Maguire's Material Pictures, with The new sony Pictures probably the most prone to co-finance and distribute.Series follows a teenage girl who survives an alien invasion simply to then look for her brother, who might happen to be kidnapped by human-searching extra-terrestrials. Gleam romantic position, because the heroine is assisted with a boy who may also be an alien in disguise.GK Films principals Graham King and Tim Headington will produce with Maguire and Matthew Plouffe.Jennifer Besser at Putnam Books for Youthful Visitors pre-emptively bought it inside a major deal for world British privileges which was discussed by John DeFiore of DeFiore and Company.Yancey's 2010 youthful adult novel The Monstrumologist was released by Simon & Schuster and also the manuscript is presently making the Hollywood models, with CAA handling film privileges.GK lately teamed with Maguire on Gary Ross' sci-fi action film "Outback," that has Carey Mulligan mounted on star.CAA discussed the offer.
